Tamara Williams received her degree in Music Education from Sam Houston State University, where she studied percussion with John Lane. Her continuing studies include graduate school at the University of Arizona; she studied with Norman Weinberg.
During her studies at SHSU, Tamara was heavily involved with performing ensembles. She toured nationally and internationally with the SHSU Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Carol Smith and the SHSU Wind Ensemble under the direction of Matthew McInturf. Ms. Williams took a brief hiatus from her undergraduate degree to go on an international tour with Odyssey Brass Angels; an all-female music production created by the Blue Devil.
While in Tucson, Arizona working on her graduate degree, Tamara participated in several scholastic performing ensembles, performed with community symphonies, and continued to hone her education chops by teaching at surrounding high schools.
Upon moving back to Texas, Tamara Williams has been a part of many performing groups around the Greater Houston Area, including being a member of the NFL Houston Texans Pep Band and percussionist for the Woodlands Symphony.
